Carmina Burana is based on a collection of lyrical poems and was composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936. This masterful work was first presented in 1937 at the Frankfurt Opera and has captivated audiences and left no one unmoved ever since. The best-known movement "O Fortuna" which is repeated at the end of the piece is world famous today.

These profane and Latin songs, performed with passion and power by choirs and soloists, tell us a story about life and death, fate and, above all, love. About 100 performers sing about the joys of the return of spring and the pleasures of alcohol, playing with the wheel of fate, dancing love and lust. This new production seizes the sensuality and emotion of this musical phenomenon to show that music, movement and speech are inseparable. This original and fiery piece, a great success of the 20th century played all over the world, will go on a major European tour starting in November 2025.
